ABRAHAM LINCOLN (1809-13, 1865), the sixteenth President of the United States of America, successfully led his country through its greatest internal crisis, the American Civil War. He introduced measures that resulted in the abolition of slavery, issuing his Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and promoting the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution. Lincoln successfully rallied public opinion through his rhetoric and speeches. Lincoln held a moderate view of Reconstruction, seeking to speedily reunite the nation through a policy of generous reconciliation, His assassination in 1865 was the first presidential assassination in U.S. history and made him a martyr for the ideal of national unity. that all men are not just,

But teach him also that

that for every selfish Politician.

Teach him for every enemy there is
a friend,
It will take time, I now;
but teach him if you can,

In the school teach him

than to cheat
Teach him to have faith
in his own ideas,
even if everyone tells him
they are wrong…
Teach him to be gentle
with gentle people,
and tough with the tough,

Teach him to listen to all men…

‘अब्राहम लिंकन का अपने पुत्र के शिक्षक के नाम पत्र’ उसे सीखना हागा, म जानता हूँ कि सभी आदमी एक जैसे नहीं होते, कि सभी आदमी सच्चा नहा हाता, परन्तु उस यह भी पढ़ाइए कि सभी दृष्टों में एक नायक होता है। स्वार्थी राजनीतिज्ञा में समर्पित (दूसरों के दर्द सुननेवाला) नेता भी होता है।

उसे खोने के लिए भी समझायें और जीत में खुश होने के लिए भी बताएँ।
उसे मार्गदर्शन कर कि वह किसी की उन्नति पर ईष्या करने से र रहा याद.आप बता सकते हैं तो उसे निश्छल हँसी के राज का बताए।
उसे पहले बताएँ कि बदमाश आसानी से तलवे चाटने लगता है।
यदि आप बता सकते हैं तो उसे किताबों के चमत्कार के बारे में बताए परन्तु उस पाक्षया के आसमान में, मधुमक्खियों के प्रकाश में और पुष्पा के हर पहाड़ी इलाकों में अनादि काल से होने के गुप्त रहस्यों को चिन्तन करने का भी पयाप्त समय दें।
विद्यालय में उसे बतायें कि यह अत्यधिक सम्मानीय है कि चोरी करके लिखने के बजाय परीक्षा में अनुत्तीर्ण हो जाए।
उसे बतायें कि वह अपनी भावनाओं में विश्वास रखे हालाँकि सभी उसे गलत कहते हो।
उसे बतायें कि भद्र लोगों के साथ भद्रता से पेश आना चाहिए और कठोर के साथ कठोरता से।
मेरे पुत्र को ऐसी ताकत देने की कोशिश करें कि वह उस भीड़ का पीछा न करे, जो भीड़ किसी कार्य पर पाबंदी की मांग कर रही हो।
